HOUSTON, May 1 -- Integrated Electrical Services, Inc. (NYSE: IEE) today announced the election of three new members to its board of directors. They are James D. Woods, Herbert R. Allen, and Richard China. The company's board of directors now consists of 13 members.

Mr. Woods was president, chief executive officer and chairman of Baker Hughes, Incorporated and, upon his retirement from the company, was named chairman emeritus and consultant. He also serves on the board of directors of Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, The Kroger Company, Varco International, Kaiser Aluminum Corporation and OMI Corporation.

Mr. Allen is currently chief operating officer of Integrated Electrical Services and since joining the company in 1998, has served in various operating roles, including senior vice president of the East Region and head of operations of H. R. Allen, an Integrated Electrical Services company.

Mr. China is chief executive officer of Integrated Electrical Services Communications Group. Previously, he served as regional operating officer of Integrated Electrical Services Northeast Region and was president of Primo Electrical and a co-founder of PrimeNet Communications, both Integrated Electrical Services companies. Mr. China has also served on the National Board of the American Subcontractors Association and was president of the Baltimore chapter of that organization.
