HOUSTON — JUNE 27, 2006 — Integrated Electrical Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: IESC) today announced that Michael J. Caliel has been named President and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 12, 2006.

"We are delighted to have an individual with Mr. Caliel's background, experience and skills as our new President and CEO. The addition of Mr. Caliel is a significant step in our continued progress and improvement as we focus on the business of providing quality services to our customers and building shareholder value."

Mr. Caliel, 47, has extensive experience with his previous employer, Invensys, a global automation, controls and process solutions company. He served at Invensys for the past 13 years in a variety of senior management positions, including his most recent role as President, Invensys Process Systems, where he was responsible for the company's worldwide operations with revenues of more than $1 billion and over 6000 employees. Prior to becoming President, Invensys Process Systems, he served as President of its North America and Europe, Middle East and Africa operations from 2001 to 2003.

Prior to joining Invensys, Mr. Caliel was at Honeywell's Industrial Automation and Control unit from 1991 to 1993, serving as Director of Marketing for the Hydrocarbon Processing Industries. From 1981 to 1991, he held several senior management positions with Asea Brown Boveri's (ABB) Process Automation Division. A graduate of Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York with a Bachelor's of Science in Industrial Distribution, Mr. Caliel currently lives in the Houston area.

Mr. Caliel replaces C. Byron Snyder, whose resignation was announced in a press release dated February 14, 2006. Mr. Snyder was the founder of IES and led the company through its recent restructuring process.
